Winter sports are at home in our region. Spend your winter holiday in the Ahrntal Valley – and you will have around 70 kilometers of snow-sure slopes in three ski areas to choose from. There is an extensive network of cleared winter hiking trails. Here you can step into cross-country skis or dive deep into the pristine mountain world on snowshoes and enjoy the sublime silence. Discover the Beauties of the Ahrntal Valley

The Ahrntal Valley will surprise you anew every day of your vacation: It is part of the Nature Park Rieserferner-Ahrn, characterized by idyllic alpine landscapes, proud mountain giants, high-altitude trails, and natural wonders like the Reinbach waterfalls. Along the Ahr river, you will discover many testimonies of a long history, including our long mining tradition. The climate tunnel in Prettau and the mining museum Kornkasten in Steinhaus preserve many remarkable testimonies of the past. Traditions, crafts, and local loyalty are still in full bloom today, which you can see for yourself at many markets, folk festivals, or even during a farm hike.

Sublime Peaks in a Vast Circle

Vacationing in the Ahrntal Valley also means direct contact with our mighty mountains. No fewer than 80 three-thousanders look down into the Ahrntal Valley, which runs right along the southern side of the Zillertal Alps. The highest peak of our region is the Dreiherrenspitze at 3,499 meters. If you have mountaineering ambitions, you are welcome to explore this impressive alpine world up close and try your luck at summiting.
