Ski Resorts & Winter Sports
Three ski resorts and countless winter sports opportunities await winter sports enthusiasts in the Ahrntal Valley.
Is winter sports your passion? Then look forward to three excellent ski resorts in the Tauferer Ahrntal, one of which is almost right on our doorstep. When you spend your next ski holiday in the Ahrntal, expect snow-sure slopes that offer beautiful runs away from the hustle and bustle of the large alpine ski circus in a relaxed, very natural atmosphere. You can also indulge in every other winter sport pleasure in our holiday region – from winter hiking and snowshoe hiking to cross-country skiing and ice skating to spirited sledding parties on our beautiful natural toboggan runs.
Three Ski Resorts Nearby
The closest is Klausberg-Steinhaus Ski Resort (just 5 minutes by car), featuring 33 kilometers of well-maintained slopes with 8 modern lifts. It reaches altitudes of up to 2,500 meters and offers several brand-new attractions – including the black Enzenberg slope and a ski kindergarten for your little ones. Here you'll find South Tyrol's highest 8-seater cable car, the "K2". Exclusively for our guests: a heated ski depot that we have rented for you. You can also enjoy wonderful skiing in the Ahrntal at the Speikboden – Sand in Taufers Winter Sports Area (15 minutes by car), situated up to 2,400 meters altitude with around 38 kilometers of slopes and 5 kilometers for ski touring. Eight lifts here quickly take you to the destination of your winter sports dreams. The Speikboden slopes are very varied and suitable for all levels. A highlight is the longest valley descent in South Tyrol, with 1,500 meters of elevation. A small but fine ski area with 4 kilometers of slopes at somewhat lower elevations can also be found in Rein in Taufers – perfect for beginners and families with children.
The Possibilities for Winter Sports in the Ahrntal are Almost Boundless
Want to fully enjoy winter in South Tyrol and enrich your ski holiday in the Ahrntal with additional activities? In the Klausberg winter sports area, there are excellently developed winter hiking trails and toboggan runs. If you want to go higher, you can also use routes for snowshoe hiking with a fantastic panoramic view over the deeply snow-covered Ahrntal. Of course, there are also well-tracked trails for cross-country skiing throughout our winter paradise: the Ahrntal boasts a total of 51 kilometers of trails of all difficulty levels, including in Kasern, Weißenbach, Mühlwald/Lappach, and Rein in Taufers.
