Small animals to pet, a playground and a meadow to play in: at Voppichlhof children have plenty of room – and you’re right there with them.
Planning your next holiday with children in the Ahrntal Valley? You’ve come to a good place for it: on our farm, children can still be children, with meadows all around, fresh air and plenty of room to play. You’ll stay in a spacious, family-friendly apartment with a lovely view of the mountains. There’s always something to discover around the farm – and it’s best explored together, as a family.
Our animals on the farm
Your children will quickly grow fond of our small animals – rabbits, chickens, pygmy goats, guinea pigs, cats, ducks, zebra finches, dwarf hamsters and our farm dog. They may all be fed and petted at any time. Children are free to move about the farm – with you, their parents, keeping an eye on them, because there is real work going on here every day, with machinery and big animals. So we always go into the cowshed together: do ask us, and if and when the day’s work allows, we’ll gladly take you along to see the cows and calves. Children never go into the cowshed on their own.
And if you would like to head out and about: you can borrow all sorts of sports equipment from us – scooters, hiking poles, sledges, snowshoes, “Rennböckl”, bobsleds and snow sliders.
Babies and toddlers are very welcome
Travelling with a baby? You’re very welcome! On request we are happy to provide a cot, a pushchair, a changing mat, a baby bath, a baby monitor, a baby walker and a child seat for the table.
What children can discover in the Ahrntal Valley
Whether it’s skiing, family hikes on interesting themed trails, a bike ride together, a visit to the South Tyrolean Christmas markets in winter or an afternoon at the outdoor pool in summer – the Ahrntal Valley offers so many possibilities for young and grown-up holidaymakers alike. Our tip: the child-friendly Bauernlandzwerge activity programme run by the Tauferer Ahrntal holiday region. Children also love the high ropes course, the Mini Ski Club and the ghost hour at Burg Taufers. These are all run by the holiday region and by external providers – bookings are made directly with them. And right here at the Voppichlhof, your children can play and romp around to their heart’s content in summer and winter: we have a large playground with a sandpit, swing and trampoline, table football, table tennis, badminton and a large meadow to play in that smells of fresh grass. There is also a village playground nearby with a zip line. Inside the house we have a reading, play and lounge room. Here your children can borrow children’s and fairy-tale books, drawing, crafting or writing materials, card and board games, as well as cuddly toys, Lego bricks and other toys at any time.

Adventure and children’s programme
This summer the activity partners in the holiday region are again continuing their weekly adventure programme for children: experiencing nature with forest & water, a look inside the local museums and above all the variety of mountain farming with its animals. Registration, participation and accompanying your children are up to you.
Children are warmly welcome here and may roam the farm freely, with you as parents keeping them in sight. We always visit the cows in the cowshed together, and if there is anything you would like to know, just ask us. That way everyone feels at home with us – the Lechner family.
